EAD Question

Hello all,

I have filed for Adjustment of Status (I-485) at the Newark office through my wife. The receipt date on the return notice is July 28th. I had my fingerprinting & biometrics done on Sept. 2 '04. I havnt received my EAD yet. The online status reads as follows:

"On September 10, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made"

The status note has not changed since then. Also, since I am approaching 90 days from filing, what is the procedure to collect EAD ? Is it normal for not having received EAD yet? How long would it take me to start working after I get my EAD? How come the status for I-765 /employment authorization is not shown?

I would appreciate your response/suggestions.

As soon as you get your EAD in your hand, that very day you can start working. Don't be frustrated. It's normal. You can go for Interim EAD and they will give you within 20 mins for 8 months and you can start working any where in the USA with that. So be happy and smile all the time :o
 
Interim EAD

Thanks Dip. What is the procedure to get an interim EAD ? Do I have to call them and make an appointment?

Getting an Interim EAD in Newark is an whole day painfull process not 20 min... Use infopass for an appointment...
