Can you skip one months pay just waiting for The EAD after filing for I-485? My friend’s H1B expired on Nov 29 2001. He had filed his I-485 (along with his EAD) in Oct 2001 (RD is Oct 20 2001, ND is Nov 10 2001). He got his EAD approved on Jan 4 2002, which means he had to go on unpaid leave for the month of Dec 2001. His Job is stable and he is getting paid since his EAD approval. Will there be ANY potential problems in the future for his GC approval????
 
no big deal.....

since his 485 is going to take another 6-7 months to be approved....he needs to worry about the last 3 months payslips, before 485 is approved, that INS might ask for and that too in case he gets an RFE....if not then everything will go smoothly...no one asks..no one cares...get the passport stamped and enjoy the freedom....
