EAD pending from Jan 03

Anybody still waiting for EAD applied from Jan 03.

We went and got iEAD till dec 03 , but if we did not get our actual EAD by then can we get another iEAD.
 
One more time.

So it will probably be a good idea to send another application if original EAD still not received at the time of getting 2nd iEAD.
 
but will I get another iEAD , since they kept the original EAD receipt , will photcopy be good enough..


ANy experiences pl.
 
Photocopy is good enough in San Jose. I have done it and got an iEAD before my EAD came in the mail. Still have my original receipt.

Normally, I try and hold on to originals unless the receiving party is really kicking for it :)
 
EAD pending since Oct 1, 2002

Applied for EAD alongwith 485, RD is Oct 1, 2002.
Got iEAD from San Jose.
Applied second EAD, RD June 6

Still waiting...

Were there things like RFE / change in online status etc. in your case, or do you think it was a straight 'We-lost-your-papers-but-won't-tell-you?'

A friend of mine never got his first EAD, got iEAD 8 months ago, applied for renewal EAD, got recent RFE (for 140 approval notice copy), and is currently sending response. Original 'regular' EAD was never approved.

I check the online status time to time and the message has always been "we received your application on Oct 1, it is taking between so so days ..."

It seems exactly like "we-lost-ur-papers" or "we-don't-give-any-fuxx-about-u" :confused:

As this forum warned me about the such goof ups, I applied for renewal EAD in time and can get another iEAD before the current iEAD expires. So I am not too much worried about it, but this ineffeciency is driving me nuts. Reasons for sticking around in this country are getting lesser and lesser...
 
we also applied for my husband's EAD in Jan , 03. Original EAD didnt come even now. we got IEAD in April end since prev EAD was expiring in May 03. We got the I EAD valid till Dec 03 and now we want to file another extension . Original EAD still not approved. No status change mesg on website. when we call 1-800 number, the person said that she sent an enquiry. NO response on that yet. Its been 3-4 months since we sent the letters to CSC asking what happened to the application. no answer on that too. God knows whats going on there :(

No EAD even after 7 months!!!!

I applied for my 2nd EAD on 01/30/03 WAC # 03-092-xxxxx. Got a RFE for I-140 copy in 06/03. Online mesage change to RFE receieve on 07/11/03. No EAD at.

My H1 is expiring soon. Any idea how long it will take. or any suggestion what to do. Can I go and get my iEADn in this situation?
 
I got my IEAD at SFO after the RFE.

Last week I talked to IIO about my pending EAD application and he said, I could go and get one from the local office. When I asked ‘am I eligible to get one?’, he did some calculation and said yes. When raised concerned, he double checked with his supervisor and said YES gain.

Calculation he did was

TODAY – NOTICE DATE – (RFE ISSUED DATE – RFE RECEIVED DATE)) > 90

Here the story:

I was at SFO office @ 6.00am

Security started letting people in at 6.45am after checking the ID

Was at the counter by 6.50am. The guy checked the documents (see the list of Doc’s I carried at the bottom) ad issued a token, I guess, I am the only one in the line for IEAD (got the token # 601)

IIO called the # @ 7.05am looked at the documents verified in the system and wrote the WAC #, A# on the application and finally check the APPROVED box on the top of the form. He asked me to go to the room # 160 (where they will take the picture and issued one) and said that it won’t open until 8.00am. I was out of the counter by 7.10am.

Checked where the room 160 is and went to have a coffee. Room 160 doors where opened at 8.00am, there were bunch of people with appointment letters (I guess, they are not EB based).

At 8.15am a lady at the counter called my name and verified the application and ID and asked me wait. At 8.55am she called me again and did the signature and the fingerprint and passed it to the guy next to her. He took the picture and gave me the IEAD valid for 9 months. And out of the building by 9.05am.

Notice that no one asked me any questions. I haven’t spoken a singe word throughout the process. This is my first experience at and INS/BCIS office in my life and was happened to be a pleasant one.

Do I need to fill in any forms to use the EAD?

If you mean, use the EAD to work, then you will need to fill out a new I-9 form. A suggestion though, if you are on H1 and have no pressing needs to shift to EAD, I suggest you stay on H1. Using EAD signifies the following:
1. You cannot enter the country on H1, instead HAVE to use AP.
2. You have to renew the EAD every 9 months or so. In case you don't get the EAD as some people on this very thread, then you have to stand in line for EAD every once in a while.

Moral of story: H1 is better to work on than EAD in a number of cases.
