EAD or H1B?

I have the same situation as you. I-485 has been pending in VSC for about 1 year and H1B will be expiered soon. I have never used EAD. Lawyer suggests to renew 7th H1B. However, think it's not value for money to get just one-year extension. Any comments that we should extend 7th H1B or start to work on EAD?

Its always to be on safe safeside.... extend for 7th year with your employer A... so that if something happens to GC processing u can change employer and continue with new GC.
I always prefer filing another GC application from company B before u enter 7th year ... because that will give a backup for another year extension in case of layoffs, GC failure with company A.
