EAD or H1

Hi All,

I have my EAD in hand and I still have 3 years on my H-1. Should I be applying for H-1 extension for another 3 years in which case I might have to spend around $3000 for H-1 extension or now that I have my EAD, should I request my employer that I will work on EAD, although I will stick to him. Please advise.

I really appreciate your time and suggestions.

Regards,
P

if you take the application fee ($3000 IS A LOT OF MONEY)out of this equation, I would renew my H1. since you will stick to the employer (i am assuming they are the sponsors for your greencard too) if your I-140 is denied you will have until the end of your H1 to continue working for the sponsor, but if your I-140 gets denied, your greencard and employment authorization are also finished.

Thanks for the reply "sshakeny". I am wondering if we can do a premium processing for I-140. I used a substitute labor. Is it still possible?
