Ead Online Application

You Know What They Say

If all else fails read the instructions. Your directions are different from mine. On mine they did not ask for copies. I have to wait for the RFE for that I guess.

You have to mail supporting documents

The instructions are clear - you have to mail supporting documents.

This is why it is not clear if the processing will be faster.

Guys,
When you say mail in the documents.. what is the address that you are being instructed to send it into? Is it like NSC, Local BCIS or some other new address? I am thinking that if it is a local office, it may speed things up. Otherwise.. it may not make much of a difference.

Online EAD - ASC experience

I had a similar experience when I went to the ASC this morning. They do not have a clue what online EAD is about.

First they rejected my appointment that this is the wrong office, go to federal office, we need a letter etc..

Somehow they managed to get a online sheet with the list of appointments for the day. My name is in the top of the list.

With all the debates around the office, supervisors running here and there and after 1 hour of discussions, debates, clarifications, they took my finger print, signature and photo.

They returned back my confirmation receipt with a stamp.

There was some confusion regarding my A# if they need to put on their online screen when they enter the finger print info. Finally they entered just the receipt number and left the A# field open.

Now I am planning to mail my documents to the NSC.

appointment at BCIS office for renewal of EAD

I just went for my appointment for online EAD renewal. True there was some confusion but they got it clarified after speaking to the supervisor at the BCIS office.

When I made the appointment over the phone the IIO asked me to take two copies of my confirmation and two copies of the application with my I-94 to prove status.

I did all that and the BCIS office did go thru these documents but returned them back to me after stamping receipt on one of the confirmation sheets. They also took my finger prints, a photo and my signature. I thought that I was supposed to leave those documents with that office so to clarify further I spoke to the supervisor myself. He said that nothing needs to be mailed or left there at that office since it is an online application. Everything is done electronically. He said that the only time you will have to mail anything is if you changed your name or something like that.

What he said made sense otherwise why would it be an online renewal if you have to send all the documents by mail. Let's wait and see if I get a RFE for any further documents.

Raj....

1. when is ur EAD expiring?

2. What made you go online way rather than regular processing (as I read the reports on immigration-law.com that online is not necessarily faster - for the other kinds of applications that started before I-765 did)? [I understand that, being online, it would supposedly be faster? But we do not know yet!]

3. Pleae do post as to how is your case going!

Thanks.
StillWaiting...

My current EAD expires 2nd week of July, which is next month. But I never used my EAD since I still have my H1 visa valid until October this year.

I guess I applied online because it was available. It is very new so I don't think anyone knows of its advantages or disadvantages.

I will keep you guys posted when I get my new EAD card or if I get a RFE.
