Ead Online Application

I just used the online EAD application system. It is very cool. I called the National Customer Service Line to schedule a photo appointment, I am booked in for tomorrow. I wonder if they will get to the approval any quicker with this system.

Where will you go for photo? How will you send check, other documents...etc?

Info

The payment is processed via direct debit to your bank account. You will in the online form, which requires the same information as filling in the manual I-765. Once you post the transaction to the system, you get your receipt number, and it tells you you need to call the National Customer Service Center to schedule an appointment for digital fingerprint, photo and signature collection with your local Application Support Center. As I said, I got an appointment there for tomorrow.

One interesting thing is that the online case does not yet reflect the new receipt number, so it suggests to me that the case status system is updated by some sort of batch process.

Paul Where are U located?

I am in Cleveland, and my EAD renewal is pending for the last 2 months.. my old EAD will expire soon. Will it be possible to get the new EAD on the day of the interview?

I am not worried about spending another 120$ for this.

Regards,
Krishna

Oregon

I am in Portland, tomorrow is not an interview, just an appointment to get FP,photo etc. No idea if this will mean a speedy approval? Sorry.

Thank you.

Paulclarke1,
Please post your experience as soon as you are done tommorrow.. You will be doing me a great favor. Please let me know what timeline they give you for the approval. I might have to do this to may be get my EAD before June 12.

Don't Think I Will Get Any Useful Info Tomorrow

I am going to an Application Support Center. They are not run by BCIS, they are run by sub contractors. This is where I got my I-485 fingerprints done. I am assuming the experience will be the same. Walk in, get FP etc done, walk out. There was no-one there who could give case info, as it is not their job.

I will update anyway.

Basis for the EAD application

paulclarke1,

What document did you have to provide as the basis for your EAD? Did you have to provide your 485 receipt notice or any proof
that your 485 is pending.

Thanks

Just Back

Firstly, they did not ask any questions, nor did they indicate that this would speed the application through the approval process. However it seemed that they launched there online application before the ASC's were really ready for it. I was told by the very helpful ASC manager that they had only gotten their info packets yesterday, and she had not had a chance to read it. She asked if we would like to go and get lunch and come back when she had a chance to get through the information. By the time we got back, she understood what was required and we were photographed, fingerprinted and had our signatures taken in about 5 minutes.

All in all no problems to report. I will post a new message on this thread when the application is approved.

Online EAD Renewal

I applied for EAD renewal online for myself and my wife. It is a easy process. Took about 30 minutes.

Scheduled an appointment tommorow, for Digital photo and finger printing. Most of the times, you need your A# for reference.

Hopefully this should be faster than paper filing.

I was also hoping that since I gave my finger prints 10 months ago for I485, this new set of finger prints for EAD might also be used for I485 approval as our local center has electronic finger printing system..

Just a thought..

Do Yourself A Favour

Take copies of all of your documents. The ACS's are new at this and if you have all of your information it should make there life easier. In my case the Portland office was not quote ready and it toook a while of waiting around for them to figure out exactly what they needed to do. This is not suprising seeing as the system only just went on line.

Supporting docs

What are the supporting documents required to be mailed along with the printed receipt number.

I filed my EAD online and have a scheduled appointment for photo & FP tommorow.

Can you help me with the list of docs required for mailing..

Thanks in advance

No Mailing Is Required

You do not need to mail in anything (unless they ask for it), but copies of your old EAD, I-140, I-485 etcs are useful to you if they have any questions.

Mailing docs

In my case, the pdf doc which has a confirmation receipt and the application details cleary states in bold

"APPLICANT IS MAILING SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION"

Looks like an instruction to the officer handling the case to lookout for more supporting docs.

Will find out more tommorow at the ASC.

Thanks,
GG
