EAD - Is renewal faster than 1st time ?

Is the processing time for EAD renewal significantly faster from first time EAD ??

I was scanning some cases and I see that a few EAD applications received on Jun 1st have been approved on June 8 or June 9 -- that's like 7 to 8 calendar days !!!

Isn't that unbelievable ? Me thinks they are some kind of renewal - who knows !
 
40 days for 2nd EAD

I got my second EAD in the mail today. The application was send to CSC on June 3.
 
Renewals are *not* necessarily faster. It depends on the time CIS is takes for processing 765 at that time. Current processing times for 765 are very reasonable.

EADs are not only for EB immigrants. Very fast processing may indicate EAD for a refugee.
 
My first EAD took 3+ months back in 2002. However my 2nd EAD took 4+ months last year, much to my dismay. But those were bad times in terms of processing speed.

I think they are just all-around faster now.
