EAD, H4, 180 day rule

Hi,

Good Morning. I have the following questions under the new 180 rule.

1). Can one use EAD(currently on H1) to work and the dependent be STILL on H4?(even though the Principal H1 has lost his/her H1 status due to use of EAD to work)?

2). Can one use the EAD sponsored by previous employer to switch and work for a New Employer, where he/she is NO Longer works for the Previous Employer without need for a new H1?

3). Can a EAD be applied at a Local INS District Office? And how fast one can get it(Same day)? Is\'t faster than the regular way of sending it to VSC? What documents are needed for application at the local office?

Any experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have a good day.

H-4 is valid only when the principal applicant is on I 1.

Yes you can use the AD which you got from the previous employer

VSC was fast in the month of March of this year in sending EAD. Most local INS give hard time if you go before the 90 days of your application to INS. But I heard Boston was nice in giving EAD in the spot. If I were you I would download the form and apply it to Vermont as soon as possible.

Best of luck!!
