If I used EAD to work for an employer and later the employer files for H1 can I switch to this H1 as a work authorization document?

you have to re-enter after getting a h1 stamp overseas.

Why would they deny new H1 if you used EAD before?

What happens in this situation:
I am a AOS parolee per I-94. I keep working on existing H1 for sponsoring employer. If I start with new employer using EAD and new employer files H1 what will happen?
a. H1 petition gets denied.
b. H1 petition gets approved, but I do not get new I-94 with H1 status.
c. H1 petition gets approved, I get new I-94 with H1 status.

In case b. am I authorized to work for new employer using EAD only (until I re-enter with new visa stamp) or I can file W-9 to change work authorization document to approved H1?

Most probably your H1 approval notice I-797 will not have an I-94.
You have visit an overseas consulate for new I-94, until then you need a valid EAD to work.

my 2 cents..

If you are a primary application and working with the sponsering employer on H1 and working with other company using your EAD then your sponser can apply for H1 extn.

If you are working on EAD for the sposoring company then they can't extend your H1. Hope this helps.
