EAD file transfer to loca INS

Myself and mywifes\' EAD files have been transferred to local INS office. I do not why. My lawyer told me to contact local office. I have tried to reach them a couple of times, but, they say they will have to work it out. It is more than 3 months since I filed. I just would like to know is any body travelling in the same boat, if it is so, please let me know, how much does it take to obtain EADs. Appreciate your reply.

My EAD application was transferred to local INS office. Called for appointment. After the appointment 13th Nov. , took my old EAD cards ( got during practical training), said will check national record and give another appointment which will take a month.

It seems people who have gone through F1 they are checking more.

Any one has similar experience.
