EAD expiry??

My EAD will expire on 9/9/06 and I'm waiting for the approval on my renewal. What are my options if my EAD expires before I get the renewal approved?
Please respond.

Details:

EAD renewal (3rd one)
ND: 7/25/06
LUD: 7/29/06
AD: ???????? :(

If you submitted your I-765 and 3 months have already passed by you can go to an Service Center and they will issue one.
 
Will I be out of status otherwise?

Are there any exceptions to that rule (to wait 90 days to get an interim EAD)? My application would be pending only 49 days when I hit my expiry date.

BTW, how long is it taking to approve EAD these days? I went through the forum and looked at various signatures but couldn't get much data for the last 2 months. I'm hoping to get my EAD approved soon, otherwise I'll be in deep trouble :(

approved in 3days

Mine was received at TSC on 17 July and approved on 21 July. Got my EAD in Mail already.

No, I don't believe you will be out of status. Your status is valid for as long as your I-485 is pending. You may, however, be unauthorized to work once your current EAD expires and before your new EAD is approved. But I think you'll get your EAD approved very soon, in August hopefully, as TSC seems to be moving along and their official EAD processing date (based on a pending I-485) is already June 19, 2006, and they sometimes approve EADs even faster than the posted time - my details below.

I applied for my wife's EAD on June 19th (ND). I'm hoping that they approve it with a week or so as my wife's company is a bit worried about her status even though it only expires in Sep.
 
My LUD changed today to 08/04/2006 and my EAD is approved yesterday :) I'm really relieved now. This is the status update I see:

"On August 3, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

So, looks like TSC is infact moving fast. My EAD was approved in 8 days (excluding weekend days).

I am glad your EAD got approved. For everyone else who has to file EADs please make sure to file them atleast 90 days before your current one expires. Although TSC maybe approving EADs at record speeds, problems can always occur. If you have filed 90 days before your expiration then you can get it from the local service center if TSC does not work on it.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely apply for the renewal at least 90 days in advance the next time. I don't want to experience this stress again.
