My EAD expired yesterday March 3rd. I already applied for a renewal (I765) a month ago and have completed fingerprinting 2 weeks ago. My AOS interview is on the 8th. Should I stop working until the 8th? If the interviewer asks me if I went to work on the 4th and 5th (6&7 weekend) what do I tell him.
(I worked today). I do not want to lie. Will it mess up my case. Thanks.

OK, this is a tricky one. But if you want to be super clean...in a situation like this a person would say I went to work as a intern/volunteer but was not paid for the days as we were waitng for the EAD card and did not work to overwhelm me later.

I applied for my EAD 2.5 months before it was supposed to expire. I got it after 15 days of EAD expiration, however, the valid date was from the date of my previous EAD expiration date. In other words, if I worked during that time, I was covered. You can also go on unpaid leave or volunteer work etc. but since your interview is so close, I would just say to take a little vacation :)

First, I really dont think they will ask you if you worked the days b/c you have applied for the EAD and it's their fault so they will not give you a hard time b/c of that. In my interview the officer asked me when did I started working , I told him I had the job and the company waited to put me on the payroll when my EAD got approved. thats all.

Since you so worried, take a vacation and if you cant just volunteer. Trust me this is the last of your worries on the interview.
