EAD Expires 12/25/04. When to apply for new?

My EAD Expires 12/25/04. When shuld I apply for my 3rd EAD? Forgot what I did last time!

General rule apply six months before expiration date.
Looking at your dates.. now would be a good time to do it... if nothing else it may trigger some movement on your 485 case.

Anyone has done e-filing for EAD extension? Is this a good idea?
