EAD Expired? Is it legal to stay while 485 decision pending

Gurus,

My wife's EAD has expired and she is now not working. Is it legal to stay in US while her I-485 decision is pending? I am primary applicant.
Do I need to file I-539 (Change of status from EAD to H4).

Anybody with similar situation??

As long as I485 is pending, she's in legal status. You'll need to renew EAD only if you want to work.
