we got our EAD approved and got the cards today. but it expaires in 3 months (grant date 10/12/05, expiration date 01/10/06)
is this right? if so what we need to do inorder to extend.

That is strange, usually the EAD is valid fro 12 months from the date of approval, unless you have got the Interim EAD from the local office, which is issued fro 3 months validity in the hope of you receiving your actual EAD from the center very soon.
