EAD EXPERIENCE



Actually it is a straight forward case. Since I still have my H-1B active and my wife does not work.

I-485 – ND – Jan 10, 2002
FP- 4/18/2003
EAD- 05/01/2003

I filed for an extension on Feb 7, 2003 on my own. I did receive a receipt notice after 75 days. Today is 91 day, I had been to SFO Today.

I stood in the line at 5.00 am.
They let us in 6.30 AM
Officer at entrance, reviewed my papers and appreciated the way I had organized. Cover letter and al the notices in an order. Copies. New I-765 in case if he asks me to handover one.
He gave me a number
Went and sat inside
7.20 am – ONE BUDA..called my number and reviewed and said.. wait in the waiting area…..
WAITED 2 HRS – 10.00 AM – one called…finger Printing + photo- 15 minutes- I was out with a new card…. (I think they took 2 hrs for Background check…in one case I over heard a conversation..he was specifically looking at all dates and asking questions).

I was out at 9.50 am

NOW AM WAITING FOR I-485 APPROVAL

what papers you took with you

can you tell me, what papers you took with you.

i applied EAD renewal on Feb 10th, it is already 90 days over. previous EAD is valid upto july 2nd week.

i want to apply for IEAD. i applied EAD renewal lawyer. he charged $150 for that, again he is asking $150 for IEAD.


can you please tell me what papers or photo copies i have to take with me? did you take your family with you?

take all the papers which was sent on feb 10.
They will ask for a copy.

Why the hell your lawer is asking an additional 150 for IEAD. Why you need his help for getting an iead? Once you get the copy of receipt from him, you've to go on your own to the local office and request for iead? I don't understand why we need the help of a lawer in this regard? If needed what sort of help? Please correct me if lawer's help is really needed.

your question is right, why do we need to go through lawyer for IEAD. actually i dont know that. thats why i inquired my lawyer about IEAD. as i mentioned before my EAD is expiring second week of july.

i dont want any problem later of denying IEAD. anyway i am going to get IEAD on my own only.
