Just to keep you updated on the e-application of EAD, here's my experience.
I called the 1-800 trunk line (1-800-3755283 and you have to listen carefully to different options, otherwise it will delay everything. After few minutes of listening and waiting, as regards to the appropriate request (I-765),I was told by the automated voice to wait approximately 9 minutes.
Approximately around that 9 minutes, a lady asked about my A # and if I am doing for the biometric (ID &signature) and fingerprint for me and my wife. You have to tell them on what the paper specifically is requesting. I told them since it is a renewal, I need both the biometric and fingerprint.
I was given an appointment at 10 AM, July 1st and was given a confirmation number. The lady asked for my wife's A # and gave a confirmation number and gave a much earlier time, 8 AM July 1st for my spouse! I inquire if I have wait till 10 AM for me and I was told it all depends on the local ASC.
That's all for now and I will keep you posted.
BTW, I started calling at 5 AM, all the while I thought the trunk line is at the east coast, I tried calling at 6 AM, nada. I decided to call exactly at 8 Am and I got this above mention thing. I'm here at Arizona.
