EAD card redelivery issues?? Help please.. Anyone??

Hi Folks,

I completed my Masters in August 2007 and had applied for EAD in July with the OPT start date of 1st October 2007. They approved my case and sent me a EAD card in september. But coz of some address mess up, it was sent back to the Texas Service Center. I called them and asked them to redeliver it on 25th September and I am yet to receive it. I have a job offer and I unable to start coz I dont have this document.

I tried to goto the local office (in California, since I am currently there) and they said they dont issue Interim EAD or any such document. My employer says if i can atleast get a approval notice, I can start. But I am unable to get any information on how can I obtain the approval notice. Neither the 800 number nor a visit to the local USCIS office helped me in this regard.

Can someone kindly let me know if they have faced a similar situation?? Or atleast let me know what other options do I have??

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Take your receipt notice that has your full name, address and the receipt number. And a print out of the online status that shows the current status as "approved".

Show him the receipt number on the two to relate to each other, and the date on the online status printout to show the approval date.

Your potential employer seems reasonable if he asked you to atleast bring an approval notice.
The above two might be enough. But for you to get paid, you will need an SSN. Assuming that you had one from your student days, you should be good to go.
 
Thank you for ur reply. But my problem is that the online status is now changed to "Card returned by post office as Undeliverable".. I dont have an "Approved" there.. Is there any way out??

It should work. They send you card only when they approve your case Ask your employer if they accept it.
 
Just to let everyone know.
We received our EAD card today in the mail Nov. 29th. It was mailed on Nov. 26th.
Our receipt notice was dated May 29th, 2007 and actual card in hand Nov. 26
Time frame as follow:
Applied mailed May 24th. TXC
Reciept date May 29th.
Approved on July 30th.
Card returend by PO on Aug. 10th
Address updated Aug. 13th.
Infopass on Oct.1st.
Service request opened Oct. 23rd.
Congressman Contacted Oct 29th.
Card received Nov. 29th
