EAD at Chicago INS office

Would like to know if anyone has been to Chicago INS office to get EAD ( first time)? Would appreciate if u can share u\'r experiance & also docuemnts that I need to take laong with me.

Yes, I did.

I went to Chicago office 90 days after applying for my EAD with NSC. They issued me an interim one for 90 days, after I explained to them that my H1-B was expiring in 30 days. I do not know whether, they will issue one if you have not already applied with NSC. If your situation is urgent you can try. It will cost you probably 4-5 hours at the max. Take all your receipts, especially the EAD receipt, if you have already applied with NSC.

PS: I got my EAD approved (as per AVM) on Nov, 20. The delay was due to the fact I got RFE in EAD. (Can you believe, I got RFE in every stage of processing right from labor including AP).
