Hi Folks,

My EAD (paper based) got approved yesterday.

Details:

3rd EAD: Receipt & Notice Date: Oct 31,2006
NO RFE
Approval Date: Jan 18,2007
AP Approval: Pending (expected since they are processing Oct 16 cases right now according to the latest processing time update)

Took Atty's help(a week back) and Congressman help(yesterday). Not sure if that helped.

Thanks for letting us know

I am in a similar situation and my EAD expires next Friday (1/26)

My RD is 22nd Nov 2006 at NSC

Do you know what action did Congressman take? Since your case was under normal processing time of INS I wonder if anyone can do anything about it or not.

Thanks in advance,

If the application is still within normal processing deadlines it is unlikely that either the attorney or congressman were able to do anything. It is more likely that you reached the top of the pile seeing as the new processing date published on Wednesday was 10/30 and your receipt date was 10/31. I am 10/31 also so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I've not had an AP or EAD that went beyond processing dates yet. This current EAD still has until 1/30 so fingers crossed. My EAD is at MSC so they were on 10/30 by late Wednesday night and my date is 10/31.

If you are after the 90 days, like you, I would make an InfoPass and go into your DO and do not leave until they call the service center processiing your case. They are given a list of direct dial numbers and can get you a response as to why it hasn't been processed. They are supposed to be able to do this within 30 minutes. If they say they can't ask to speak to the supervisor and don't leave until they sort it out.

I am a UK citizen and I have tried InfoPass and phone till I'm blue in the face. I have also tried congresswoman and both senators who were all no help at all. I have a FOIPA out there somewhere that I still waiting to hear back from and I wrote to the CIS ombudsman. Am seriously thinking about trying WoM after the EAD comes through.

With USCIS nothing is automatic. I know I was around the corner, when I asked for help, but look there are a very large number of people who were getting EAD approved eventhough their RD was after me and there are still some people who has far earlier than my RD and still waiting. I was proactive in asking for help from quarters where I can and I don't know for sure if it helped or not.

My experience with USCIS is that they are buch of pathological liars, lazy , incompetent morons who have no regard for us.

You make a very good point. What did the attorney and congressperson say when you asked them because the attorney I spoke to said there is nothing he can do before the 90 days are up.

why u didn't try to write to the first lady or so?

I didn't think it would make any difference. Having said that I didn't think any of the other letters would make any difference either, which they didn't, and I still wrote those.

At the end of the day I pessimistically believe that the fact that some namechecks finally happen a few months after we write a letter is a good thing to hang on to but that it actually makes no difference at all. For me writing the letters just helps me pretend that I'm not completely at their mercy.

My (paperbased) was approved on 01/20 and i got this message:
"On January 19, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.....blah blah.....
