All those with RFE on their I485 do not despair you will got your work permit. It has taken around 75 days for me to get the approval email. So guys try and hang in there.... I know how u guys feel. I have had a job offer on hold since March. So I'm glad the employer has been patient.

Hi litt brit,
U were really lucky, congrats.I think because u were checking 10/12 times a day USCIS thought u r keeping their site very busy so got rid of u. Hope they get rid of others too soon.Well goodluck with ur job.

Wow, congratulations Lil Brit! Unbelievable!! :)
I hope the rest of us will be that lucky.
Maybe it has something to do with how fast we responded to our RFEs.

one thing I called USCIS

Hi Patty, and Juno,

I called USCIS yesterday morning and asked about volunteering. They told me it was ok.... I asked to be transfered to immigration officer. I said I had some specific questions in re: my case. I spoke to this nice guy. I asked about how long will it be for my work permit. He told me to be patient. and said he couldnt answer.

Odd that day I applied.... I gave him my sob story he was VERY NICE.

Who knows I got off the telephone still expecting to wait one or 2 weeks.

I think harrassing USCIS works. I have spoke to them at least 3 times. I have had one INFOPASS and I had another one booked. Maybe this helps....

Well guys thanks for all your help!! Patty You will get that email in the next day or 2. YES I did turn my RFE around very quickly.... It mite also depend on what the RFE is for.... In refernce to it delaying or not delaying your work permit.

Hang in there guys!!! :

Cici, I replied to you on the other thread, wonder you posted this here. EAD stands for Employment Authorization Document. You need this to work if your AOS is in process and you are not on a work visa like H1. You can also apply for your AP - Advance Parole, if you want to travel outside the US during this time. But if you don't want either, you are fine. Like I mentioned, you might want to setup an Infopass interview at your DO and enquire about your AOS interview.

Ead Rfe

Hi Sgsnathan,

Thank you so much for you reply. I know what is EAD, but don't know what is RFE. So far I don't have any RFE yet, so just wondering is that a kind of documents from immigration?

Thanks,

Request For additional Evidance, for example if you forgot to send something, or missed a step in the process.. It's just USCIS asking for more, or clarified information.

Cici, someitguy has already answered your question. If you had sent all the forms filled out right and they didn't need any more information from you, you should be good to go. Most of the time, people wait for the RFE (Request For Evidence) notice to be sent to them before doing their medical. That is a common reason for RFE. Another that I have seen lately on here is something to do with your Birth Certificate. Some missing information on it or not having an English translation etc. I hope you are good on all that.

new update

Hi there,

Little Britain here,

I reckon quite a few of you guys will get the magic email in the next few days. After looking at NBC processing times. I reckon some of your EAD are sitting on the USCIS clowns desks waiting to be issued.

I got another LUD 6/21/06 - quite odd.

Approval email 6/20/06 :D

Will let you guys know the minute I recieve the EAD. Hope tomorrow or Saturday.

See you and good luck :)

More Good News

Hi there

Little Britain here,

I got another 3 emails from USCIS this morning.... I've figured their system is on West coast timing. My uscis website says the same:

The emails said "This case has been approved. On June 23, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address".

Does this mean my EAD was posted today? Could someone who knows let me know :D

Thanks guys,

The work permit arrived today in the mail. I am happy!! To say in the least. It is valid for just over 1 year.
