I e-filed my third EAD application to TSC on Jan 15.
It wasn't approved until yesterday after asking Congressman office for help. This morning I check on-line message it changed to "On April 13, 2004, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your new card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Question: My current EAD will expired on April 16. By the time I won't be able to receive new EAD yet. Can I continue working? Do I still need iEAD?

Any reply is appreciated.
Thanks!

I think You can work 180 days from the day of your last EAD expiries

disagree

I disagree with shashi's remark. I dont think you can work without valid EAD. See INS's website for EAD guidelines. It is much debated issue, though most people take unpaid leave, or ask to be paid once they have new EAD. Your renewed EAD is on its way so u dont have that big of gap. Just confirm with ur lawyer that it is safe to work, while ur waiting for ur EAD.

According to USCIS, it is upto employers to accept the approval notice as substitue for valid EAD.

in brief, talk to ur employers & lawyer.

U need to have valid EAD/iEAD in ur hand to work.
ur gap is not a big one I think you can get by even without informing your lawyer as ur new EAD most probably will have starting date after the expiration of previous ead.

Yeah if you want you can also go get iEAD which u'll be able to get in few hours.

For your assurance u r not in bad shape; do what you want to do.

u want iead go get that.
u want to continue without informing employer/lawyer go ahead do that.

ur EAD was approved on 13th which means u'll rcv ur new card by 22nd APril. 16th is friday so u only have 2-3 days on which u don't have EAD.

Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart's office is just in the next building of my office, so I just simply walked in. Their address: 8525 NW 53rd Terrace, Suite 102, Miami, FL 33166. Phone: 305-470-8555

My family's AP was pending for long time. They help me solve it too.
