EAD Approved. Can I start work w/o actual card

Hi

I just got an email from USCIS that my wife's and my EADs and APs were approved on 26th Oct.

Now, my wife has a contract position offer from Nov 1st. Can she start working with just the EAD approval or will she have to wait until the card is recvd. in the mail ??

------ you may get EAD in 5-8 days at home address, If AP filed directly ut will come to your Address if filed by Lawyer AP will go to lawyer

SSN required?

Hi,

My wife is currently on H4 and does not have an SSN number. We expect to get our EAD approval soon. Once she gets the approval before working does she need to get an SSN number? If yes, then how can she get an SSN number.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

once you get EAD , go to local social security administration in your city and apply for SSN based on EAD. call them first and find out what are the required documents. may be VISA, H4, passport, EAD card etc..
