Yes, pretty much everyone gets their EAD approved from what I heard. Even if they deny you the initial AOS you can still get EADs approved while you go through an appeal process. The reason for that is CIS recognises most people need an EAD to function normally while their case is pending.

Absolutely, I-485 approval is isn't set on stone. You need to prove your eligibility for the I-485 and provide required evidence. Once your I-485 is denied, it automatically kills your EAD. However, most people never receive notice from USCIS that they can't use the EAD anymore. Why was your AOS denied.
