What is the difference between following 2 EAD approval messages ? Why is card mailed in 1 case and approval notice in another case?

# 1 Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status:

On December 17, 2003, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

# 2 Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status:

This case has been approved. On November 20, 2003, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Maybe at the time of approving, the plastic card ordering system may have indicated a backlog. So could have placed the order in a queue.

Maybe the adjudicator of this case was able to succesfully place the order and get a confirmation message from the card manufactuurer.

Either way, be happy that your EAd is approved. :)

These are the standard two messages i got as well when my EAD was approved.. I think the first message is on approval and the second is after the card is mailed and the case closed..

After approval message is posted, anyone know approximately how many working days it takes for the approval notice to arrive?

after the msg says "....an approval notice was mailed..." I got it in less than 5 working days. It was mailed directly to me (and not the attorney). Best wishes.
