Friends - I am looking to file for EAD. My attorney is asking $450 to file for EAD.
I don't think its too hard to file by myself; what you guys think? Moreover, too tight on money currently.

If anybody filed EAD on its own and have info on it; pls share Tips/Guidelines/Steps to file for EAD correctly.

Thanks in Advance!!

Hi .... its very easy considering now i even applied for renewal of my EAD by myself .... i am not sure about your documentation skills but if you are confident, you can easily do it yourself .

@Abhatti You're AWESOME!! GOD bless you!

This is my initial EAD. Anything different I need to do?

Also, You mentioned "Email Confirmation from USCIS DHS for Biometrics (Each Applicant)" - How to register to get email notifications?
What is "Family Registration Certificate (for each applicant)" ?
I've dependent 14 yrs old on my application. Do i need anything separate?
All these documents shall i sent just like in package or make some file or something?

Family registration certificate is something from my origin country that proves all members belonging to same family, it is not required by USCIS but i felt like attaching to my application in order to avoid any possible additional questions (just incase)

I am not sure about you but when i initially visited USCIS for biometrics, after submitting my i-589, they took fingerprints for each family member. They were supposed to provide receiving receipt of each family member with stamp but they only gave me one receipt as head of family.
Now, to avoid any hiccups, i sent an email to USCIS and asked them that do they have fingerprints of all of our family members or no ? since i have only one receiving, they respond with confirmation that they have it. So i took a print of that email attached it with application
Although USCIS have everything available online, but you never know who has received your application and if he/she doesnt see fingerprint receiving notice in your application and doesnt take a look online in their system, you can be rejected, so why take that chance ?

Now for the EAD application, remember that each person will have his / her own application, regardless of age ... even if its a newborn.
The reason is , when you file their individual application, they will get their own social security number . and you definitely would need it for so many reasons

each applicant will have its own bundle / file of documents attached in sequence. Make it neat and clean to have it looked professional and to avoid having any rejection

Hello
I recieved this email from USCIS regarding for my initial EAD it has been 90 days.

We apologize for any delay in the processing of initial employment authorization (EADs) in the (c)(8) category. USCIS is prioritizing pending applications based on the date of filing. Since the Asylumworks v. Mayorkas decision in February 2022, USCIS has applied the rules in place prior to August 2020 governing (c)(8) EADs. As a result, USCIS is experiencing a substantial increase of initial (c)(8) applications subject to the 30-day processing timeframe. USCIS is addressing the backlog, as well as the increased number of new cases subject to the 30-day timeframe.

Your application is currently in queue awaiting assignment to an officer.

Thats so bad. Did you send them ASAP membership too? Did you apply yourself or your Attorney did?

Just escalate .... after 25 days application is received with USCIS, contact their support via call center or emma (live chat)
they will give you a service request #

Then send an email to

tsc.classaction@uscis.dhs.gov (if your service center is texas other find out similar email for your relevant support center), however i guess its texas for all EADs , just double check

and copy to

asylumEAD@nwirp.org

write them the details of delay and provide your case details as under

Name
Service Request #
Date of Service request created
I765 Receipt #
I765 Notice Received Date

1- On pg 9, i see Form I-589. Do we need to attach copy of I-589 previously sent? or Just Receipt of I-589?

2- PART 4 Interpreter / PART 5 PREPARER
I don't have any Interpreter or PREPARER for EAD application as I am doing by myself. So, i'll put N/A for both?

3- In Part 2: 30D-Is it basically date on your I-94? Right?
Also, 30G- I entered lawfully. So, i would put N/A ?

4- Shall I just attach the docs mentioned above or prepare file with table of contents etc for good presentation? :)
How you did it?

Sorry for multiple silly questions...I jst want to make sure as i am need of job badly.

How to find the address where we can send the application? What kind of mail should we prefer, like Priority, sign etc ?

So, it doesn't matter about your Asylum office but mailing address for EAD application depends on EAD category which is c8 for Asylum and it goes to correct

Correct, you will have to send it to texas

Dont get surprised if you get receipt from some other service center. In my case, i got it from Nebraska
