EAD/AP renewal after I-485 transfer to local office

I-485 transfered to INS Chicago on Feb 20, 2002. Transfer letter not received. Lawyer says it will take 6-8 months after transfer to get
an appointment for interview from INS Chicago.

Does anyone have experience/know how to extend the EAD/AP after the I-485 has been transfered to Local office.

Do we have to send EAD/AP renewal extension to local office or to INS Nebraska.

Please post any recent interview appointments from INS Chicago

I am in the same boat

I am in the same situation. EAD/AP for employment based I-485 go to Nebraska; the other I-485s (like family sponsored) always to the the Chicago office (other cities may have different regulations). I have not been able to get an answer for the employment-based cases transferred to Chicago yet.
BTW, can one get an AP for a business-related trip abroad, or is it for family emergencies only?
