EAD/AP Question

Hello,
Here is my information. I have applied for 140/485, using EB3 preapproved labor, towards end of June 2004 and applied for EAD/AP only for my wife at that time. My wife's EAD/AP got approved in 1 month and my 140 got approved beginning October.
As my H1 stamping is expiring and I am planning travel outside US soon, I have applied for my EAD/AP during mid October. It has been over 2 months since I applied for it and so far I haven't heard from USCIS about my cases though the website shows the current dates as Nov 1st and Nov 15th for AP and EAD.
Now If I want to travel outside end of Jan using AP (if it comes), I am not sure what my options are..

Do I keep waiting or do I have to ask my lawyer to initiate a query?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Since the current dates posted for processing are already past your filing date. You should initiate an inquiry thru' your lawyer.

I have heard that out here in Massachusetts, if 90 hays have passed after you filed for EAD, you could directly go to the local USCIS office and get the EAD. I'm not sure how true this is for other states.
 
Thanks for the response. However, I am more concerned about the AP as I would be travelling out soon.

Better call the uscis, tell them your case has passed the projected/updated dates on uscis website and explain your emergency need to travel, they would direct you to an Immi Officer..best wishes
