06/20/2003 (Report from New Orleans): Merger of EAD and Advance Parole Under Consideration

The leaders of the BCIS have been pushing on the idea of issuing multiple-year EAD, but the officials indicate that this idea faces difficulties at this time. Rather, the BCIS is considering abandoning of the current Advance Parole document and allow the people to use EAD card as Advance Parole. That isn't a bad idea, is it?

I really appreciate your help in this matter.

I am desparately waiting for AP Processing to move ahead at TSC. I have not seen many approvals in last two months. Its almost like stuck. So, the reason may be they may be considering this merge and so that may end up no need to work on I-131 cases anymore. Its not matter to me as long as they give me a way to move in/out from country.

Let's see what happens...
