EAD, AP and H1B

My lawyers are giving me the option of applying for EAD and AP along with the AOS application. I donot intend on changing my employer. My first term for H1 expires in December
1. Does getting EAD and AP affects my H1 status, can I get H1 extension once my current H1 expires, can I get my H1 transfer, if I get laidoff.
2 Can I travel on H1 status even if I have AP and working for the same company
3. What can I salvage, if I get laidoff before 180 days.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of getting EAD and AP right now.
I would appreciate it if someone can clarify these issues

if you think that you might be laid off, getting an EAD is a good idea. Just remember that you can also get EAD and AP after you get the 485 receipt. If you travel on AP, any H-1 that you might have will be cancelled automatically.
 
Best bet would be apply EAD and AP and use only if you need.

You can use them only if you want. You can work on H1 even if you have EAD and AP and you can transfer your H1 because you are in H1 status. In case you are laid off you can very well use your EAD to get job. So having EAD in Handy will be an great help.

Yes you can travel on your H1 and maintain H1 status even though you have AP. You should use your AP only if you have used your EAD.

my question is what are the pros/cons of getting ead / ap
con - cost is one of the factor
pro - it does not affect ur main gc processing if u apply or do not
apply for ead/ap
pro - if u have to travel many views say if u have valid h1 u can travel
other views say no u cannot without ap - solution better have ap and dont take risk - do not travel - but have ap in hand for emergency situation like god forbid - death in the family
pro - if worst situation and out of job for whatever reason - ead means u can join new employer without any expense to employer
so best advice - apply ead / ap and dont use it but keep it for security reasons
 
I already got EAD, can I still apply for pratical training

I am a F1 student. I filed 485 together with my husband, who is a H1 and we already got our EAD. I will graduate and want to use practical training, but some people told me that once I filed 485, I am no longer in F1 status and thus can\'t apply for practical training, is it true? thanks for any help!
