My wife is on L2 and she has applied for EAD and it is in processing state.
I have to file my tax returns before Apr 15th 2006. I have already claimed my wife as a dependent in my 2005 w-2. Looks like the EAD will come in 4 weeks. After that, I have to apply for my wife's SSN. That would take another 3-4 weeks.
In this situation,
(1) Should I file my tax returns now? Also, apply for ITIN for my wife alongwith the returns?
or
(2) wait until I get my wife's SSN and file the returns? Can I apply for extension of my tax returns filing? Is there any additional fee required for extension?
