EAD and SSN

Hi all,

My wife came here with H4 visa ( I am in H1), both of us applied AOS/EAD/AP in april together. She received her EAD today, can she apply SSN with EAD? Because EAD authorize her to work in USA. She has no SSN because of H4 visa though we applied it when she just arrived here, the officer did issue it to her, the reason is that she has H4 visa and can not apply SSN without work permit. so how about now with EAD?

Hi,

  You can go to any local Social Security Office and show the EAD. Usally SSN Card will take max 10days to get in Mail.
  One can start working with EAD Card and SSN Application Receipt(Informed by Social Security officer) . My wife did the same.
