EAD and PhD related question - please help

I recently got my EAD (140 approved) and Advance parole, and applied for adjustment of status (485). My wife also got EAD, as my dependent. However, she entered USA on H-4 visa.

Before marriage, she did MS in USA and was on F-1 visa.

She want to study PhD in USA. Will she need to convert to F1 visa again Or can she use the EAD for study purposes

I come under Nebraska service center (Wisconsin state)

As far as my knowledge is concerned..she dont need F-1 to do PHD.
She can use EAD for educational purposes..
