EAD and I-94

Hi experts,

I have one doubt from last 1 month.
Myself and my wife working using EAD's(expires on 08/30/2010, both). I am primary applicant. Both of us I94 going to expire on 04/30/2009. We have this I-94 when we entered into US on H1B(myself) H4(wife). Ofcourse, both of us have Advance Parole. We don't have any plan to go out of this country for another 6 months. My questions are

1. Do we need to renewal that I-94's. or just ignore.
2. Please explaingr the relation between EAD and I-94 (when one individual works using EAD).

-------------------if you and your wife are working with EAD then dont care about 194 expiry date. you and your wife Invalidated H1 or H4 status.
2. Please explaingr the relation between EAD and I-94 (when one individual works using EAD).
-----------------If you are working on H1 status then I-94 is given till H1 validity and if one wants file H1 extension or H4 extensions then H1 or H4 extensions must reach USCIS before I-94 gets expired. Many apply EAD and AP when file I-485 but getting EAD or AP does not mean that one MUST use EAD or AP if one has H1 status. You were having valid H1 status till 04/30/2009 and I don’t know why you used EAD for work. Once you use EAD you are not on H1 status. I don’t know why you used EAD. Now if something goes wrong with your pending I-485 you will not have H1 as back up plan.
** FYI one can still be on H1 after use of EAD if Exit US and enter on H1 status.

Ignore. You filed the I-485, which keeps you from going out of status when your I-94 expires.

Using the EAD to work makes the I-94 and the underlying H1/H4 useless. But as long as you have a pending I-485, you don't need to care about the I-94 ... unless you want to keep H1/H4 status.
