EAD and finding another job.

Hi,

I've an approved I-140 and EAD ( along with me my wife ). Is it possible for me to take a break in between, before I take up the new assignment ?

I'm maintaining the h1-b status as well and my new employer has my h1-b.

It is NOT a requirement with pending I485 to have a continous job without any gaps to keep the I485 in good shape. You can have breaks between jobs, you can take vaccations with or without pay. Additionally, if you have H visa, the EAD has no meaning and is an optional and not a must. What put you in legal stay is the pending I485, not the EAD as many think. What is required is to have job in the same or similar field to what is present in LC.
