EAD and Advance Parole

My wife has a valid H4 till April 2003. Recently she got her EAD approved, but she doesn\'t have a SSN and she hasn\'t started working. Does she need to apply for advance parole for re-entering US? Does her H4 status get cancelled once the EAD is approved? Please share your comments!!!
 
H4 is still valid for travel.

See INS FAQ-advance parole section. She should start using AP only after using EAD to work not before or if she does not have a valid H visa.

I have similar doubt,if we get SSN using EAD & do not work ,then will the visa becomes invalid & do i have to use AP for travel?
 
No not necessary to use AP.

Use AP ONLY when you have used EAD to secure an employment. Getting SSN or registering in the local employment office or floating your resume in internet does not mean that you have started using EAD. Only when you file I-9 with your employer than you start "using" EAD and any travel after that you have to use AP.
