Our 3rd EAD got approved on 12/09 but me and my wife's photos were interchanged on our EAD cards. Also our alien reg. number was wrong. so, went to the local district office, explained the officer and got them corrected. She asked us to fill out another fresh EAD application with fee waived. In 30 mins, we were out of that office with new EAD cards.
Yesterday, I received the NOTICE OF ACTION stating that my application for EAD has been received. It takes 80 days from Receipt date to process this king of application. I'm now confused as to why I received this notice. Will I received another EAD in the near future?

Hello

The EADs you got from Local office are Interim ones. So you will be getting your one year valid cards, and are in the process with corrections..

Make sure the local office issued EADs for 6 months. It should not be valid for a year. Local office must issue only a temporary EAD. TSC is the one that should issue annual EADs. Consult your attorney.

The EAD cards given to us by the local district office is valid for 1 year with same validity end date as that of the original one sent by BCIS. They took a photo of both of us and that is what appears on our EAD cards. how to find out if its an interim one or not? they look different than the original one sent to us. they have the local office name imprinted on them with same wordings as that of the original. My attorney charges are high and I'm not planning to discuss this with him to avoid his costs.

my case

In 2002 I had filed for EAD and got an RFE. INS had lost my photos. My lawyer sent them a fresh set of photos in response to RFE but it was too late for me. Thus i had to go to the local INS office in Atlanta with all the details. They gave me a EAD that was valid for 1 year. My lawyer then followed up with TSC about the status of application that was file there. The officer there told my lawyer that since Atlanta office already had issued me an EAD for 1 year, they were withdrawing my application at TSC. Thats the last I heard of it. Of course I did get another EAD next year from TSC(for 2003) without any problems.
