EAC #'s

I saw a thread that's updating all the EAC numbers for the users here... I couldn't go through the whole thread but I was curious what is the EAC they are working on now.

My EAC is 030805****.....and I see immigrationwatch and rupnet have people who have past this number getting approved. I'm sure there are more people out there who have a number close to mine or even eralier who haven't been approved.

What does VSC work on, PD? RD? ND? EAC? ...apparently what ever is convenient.

I'm still going to wait patiently. Jsut thought I'd talk about this topic

I'll try to summarize things.

Apparently (unconfirmed but starting to seem likely) there are 2 physical locations that the VSC is using to process cases. The 2nd location is processing cases with ND's from April through October 2003 and is hoping to be done with these by March 2005. The 1st location is processing all other cases.

It seems like within each of the locations, the processing is somewhat random. e.g. we're seeing approvals for Jul/Aug 2003 cases when there are many earlier cases which haven't been approved.

About all that can be said with certainty, is that there are many "out of order" approvals, possibly for "easy" cases which don't require any special scrutiny.

As far as I know, the VSC generally goes by the ND for cases. But, with labor substitution cases they apparently go by the PD for the original labor.

IMO, the best way to get an overview of what is going on is to follow the various trackers (e.g. http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?p=944928#post944928), the sampling scanning thread (http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?p=945010#post945010) and the rupnet tracker (http://www.rupnet.com/immigration/reports/approvaltrack.asp?place=100&predefined=1&mplace=1 -- 0 approvals so far today btw).

The official VSC processing date (currently 11/12/02 and due for an update soon) is probably pretty meaningless if they really are using 2 separate locations where the 2nd location didn't necessarily ask for the "next customer in line".

Yes but where are the approvals from the "first" location lately???

Which cases are considered to be 'easy' cases? I guess everyone thinks their case is an easy case!

I've speculated elsewhere that an "easy" case might depend on:

+country of origin
+applicant has been with sponsor during entire stay in US (e.g. did not use AC-21)
+straightforward match between job requirements and applicant's experience
+the employment catagory (EB3 vs EB2 etc.)
+no outstanding medical issues
+obviously, FP and name check etc. need to have been cleared
