E-filing Form I-131 problem

I was trying to e-file form I-131 and I got stuck at a point where it asks for a separate document to show the reason for applying for AP. I really don't have any particular reason but then I do estimate sometime in the near future to travel and hence the filing.

From the way it was listed in the form, it does asks for specific reason for filing the app, which I really don't have at this time. Now having said that, is it advisable to quote a reason with no validity to it and file the application or should I just get this through my attorney to make things simpler but will cost me $$$.

Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Thanks again.

I don't quite recall which part of the form you're talking about, but ours said "various trips" and in the reason part it just said "to visit family in New Zealand" - or something to that effect. We hadn't planned any particular trips at that stage - do you have any idea where you might go or why? I suppose you could put you were travelling for business as well as leisure purposes? Anyway, ours was pretty simple (we had all our paperwork done by a lawyer due to my fear of immigration!)

Re:

Well yes I think as part of the same page where it said "One Trip" or Various Trips" was something written in fine print saying to list separately the reason for applying and travelling outside the US.

My attorney wants some ridiculous fees for filing AP which I thought was a rip off and so decided to e-file on my own.

If anyone out there had e-filed on there own, I would appreciate some input from them on how it went and was it a straight forward app.

Thanks for the tip.

You don't have to submitt any document for purpose of travel. All you mention is the tentative date of travel, and ask fro multiple trips.
When you are done e-filing, mail them I-131 printout, I-485 receipt and your H1 visa copy. Thats it.
