I am scheduled for an interview at the local INS office. I e-filed my tax returns so far. I have got the printout of it while doing it. Since it is a E-file, there is no signature of mine in the copies. Does it matter? Is there anyway to get the copy of tax return papers from IRS within 3 weeks or so?

Thanks!

ceejay, you dont need signed copies, and infact there are none. the website/software that you used using efile, if you simply use it to "print" a copy of the federal return. This is the preferable route ... alternate is the getting transcripts from IRS, which you could get in as early as 1 week.

I had called the IRS telephone number 1-800-829-1040 and asked for Tax Transcripts by Mail on September 24, 2004, and WOW - I received them today in the mail (September 29, 2004).
I dont see any problems with the E-Filed Tax Return printout either. I have always E-Filed, and have all those copies as well with me.
