DV-2014 Instructions!
It is almost time to apply for DV2014 and I would like to make sure that I fill out everything correctly and was hoping ya'll can help me with that.
We still have one full month till DV-2014, which is starting in October 2nd. You better start off with your photographs, because they are the most important ones, as well as very tricky. They have very strict requirements, failing to meet those would disqualify you.
I am a citizen of Germany but I was born in Italy. What country of eligibility do I enter?
You can claim both. Check the DV-2014 instructions to wee whether Germany and Italy are eligible or not for DV-2014. The instructions are not released yet, so you to wait. You should keep visiting this site.

I am currently a F1 student in the US. What address to I enter? The one in the US where I am or my address in Germany? What if it asks me about country where I live today? Do I put Germany or US in there?
I think they ask for both the addresses, i.e. postal address and permanent address. I really don't remember that application form. Wait till is is released.
Is there anything else that I need to consider filling out the form?
Yeah, there are some other things as well. They ask about your marital status, kids if you have them, your spouse's and kids photographs and other data. They also ask you about work and education etc. It should be very easy to fill that application form, so don't worry. You can fill it on the spot, without any difficulties.
Thank you for the help. I want to make sure that I don't mess it up.
Don't worry, you won't mess it up. Remember two things very clearly.
1) Get the photographs according to their requirements. You should contact professional photographing companies, they are well-versed with US Embassy requirements. And ofcourse, you must read the DV-2014 instructions which is going to be released soon.
2) Never submit more than one entry, or it will disqualify you. And how would you know that your first entry has been accepted? They will give you the confirmation number, which confirms that your entry has been successfully received by the computer. And
NEVER LOSE THAT CONFIRMATION NUMBER.
There is no way you can get it back. Store it safely on several places, as well as taking a print-out.
One more thing, it is actually just a suggestion from me. Remember everything you had typed in that Lottery application form. Simply create a text document, and copy past everything that you enter in the application form, into that text document. If you are selected, then fill the forms, which you have to send to KCC, according to that lottery application form. Note that, it is just a suggestion from myself, I don't know whether it will be useful or not.
Best of luck!
