DV2013: LONDON interview date change request

Hi.
Has anyone ever changed their interview date?
I've been given an access (subject line) code and an email address
by the embassy phone line and emailed a request to change my interview date
by 2 weeks (still within the 30Sep deadline)
Do they usually allow that?
I received a standard email acknowledgement days ago and that was it...
Waiting patiently but unsure if this is something the embassy even allows...

Thanks...

PS Happy July 4th.

more ???s

Informative forum - thanks.
Next question if any one knows.
(Assuming they accept me at the interview ..)

Is the visa issued in the passport (until first US entry and the card arrives in the mail presumably)
multiple entry? My work allows me to live anywhere so long as I do the job (we travel
to our clients - and they are all over the place)
On the guestimated time frame of this I could need to leave the US twice before
the average wait time of a month elapses till the USPO man shows up....

Yes, you can use the visa in your passport for multiple entry. It says:
Upon endorsement serves as a temporary I-551 evidencing Permanent Residence for 1 year

Endorsement is done when you first enter the US as an immigrant after successfully getting your DV. They stamp it with that date and put a note as to what class of immigrant you are: DV1 and the date the visa is good until: a year after entry.

Just to elaborate, an I-551 is a green card, so the endorsed visa serves as a temporary green card.
