Hi

In the city of birth in the orginal DV entery I wrote the small town that I was born as town of birth, but in the ds230, I wrote the name of the city, which that small town belongs to. Geographically speaking they are both correct and accurate representation of my birth place. Do you think that there is any problem since its not the same in both of the forms , or this is minor issue. If this is a problem what you advice me to do? Should I call kCC in reagrd of that?

Thanks
Bob

A few days ago I was at the interview with my parents (I filed a petition for them as a US citizen). On I-130 I put the name of the village where they were born. The CIS or FBI had a problem finding that small village, so the interviewing officer made a correction in both their files replacing the name of the village to a bigger city name that the village belongs to.
I think you should be fine. If they ever question it, tell them you were afraid that they couldn't locate it.

it should really match your birth certificate.
That's something I forgot to mention. My parents did not have their birth certificates (I provided some affidavits about their identity), otherwise the CIS would have more information about their birth place, like the name of the Autonom Republic. The I-130 didn't ask for it. Of course, I included a letter with all that information, but, I guess, they didn't care to look at all the papers in the file. I am sure they would look at the birth certificates, and we wouldn't have any problems.
Having said all this, they did tell me, and these are the officer's words (which I am not sure you can trust): "On I-130 for birth place we do not ask for the village name, we ask for the town/city name. So, you should have entered the name of the city that the village belongs to".
