DV2006 EU winners AOS interview

DV2006EU34XX said:
Yeah Ipek you right bringing extra papers are always better. I am happy that they renew the date for your LUD which is good but what is LUD stands for?:) At least seeing something moving makes you feel better even it is too slow. And if this LUD is your receipt number does that start with MSC?

Today I went there with my infopass and asked about my DUI,Sponsor,$100 fee and Employment situation. For the DUI she said get the police and court records. Police department didn't find any record then I went to superior court and got my criminal record which shows my DUI and in says 'dismissed'. So it is ok hopefully will not make problem but also it is a negative for me. For sponsor they said just bring whatever it says in your interview letter but anyway I talked with one of my best friend and his parents will be sponsor for me and on the other hand my father got an english bank statement from turkey showing the amount of money which will be kind of support to my sponsor:) For $100 fee I was so surprised. She said I need to prove that I paid 100 dollars for the application to get a visa while coming here like 3 years ago. heheheh I was like r u kiddin I dont have a receipt because it was 3 years ago and even if i did not pay they would't give me visa right?:) How funny whatever i will show them my visa and will be allset. For employment , she told me that I better find a job before my interview which is 10th of July. I told her that i got offers and still have the emails from the companies but i am trying to find some international business related job which I have studied. But she didn't even listen and they dont care whenever i go there always they piss me off like they ignore you stuff whatever. So we will see anyways when i go to interview I will say I love my country it doesn't matter to stay here or go back home:) good luck in your infopass hopefuly u will learn something about your visa.

Onur, don't worry.. It will work. Though I am so glad that your friend's family will sponsor you.. I am surprised about the $100. It is very strange. I thought they were asking about the payment to get immigrant visa # to get a green card here.. When we received the package from KCC, they ask for it in there.. It is "Diverisity Immigrant Visa Processing fee". Do not confuse it with I-485 fee.. It is not the same thing.. But I am still puzzled, because I paid something $375 or $385.. But I am not sure if the price was different when you received the package. I really can't think of anything else what $100 might be.. As long as you paid the visa processing fee, you'll be fine.. I sent that payment initially to KCC and they sent me a receipt back and USCIS wants to see a copy of that slip before they approve your case. I bet she is confused. I sent a copy of my payment along with my application. So they never asked me about it again.

On USCISs website, you can create an account and add your case number.. When you do that, you will see a date there called LUD (Last Updated Date), in there you will see when they touch your case. The message may not change but you'll see date changing when there is a progress on your case.. Since there has been some sort of an update for me, I decided to cancel my appointment and postponed it until 7/3/2006.. By July, it is almost gonna be a month.. Actually, when I paid attention today, the message also changed little bit. It used to say your case is pending and it will be processed within 120-180 days and we'll let you know when there is a decision.. Now, it just says that my case is pending, and they will notify me as soon as there is a decision. So, they deleted the 120-180 day portion. I just want to give them a little more time to see what happens. I found a very similar case to that happened to somebody just like me in other treads.. Last year, this guy was approved in March with no PP stamp and no welcome or approval letter and got his Green Card in June.. So, we'll see..

DV2006EU34XX,

i had an interview with arrest record. I was well prepared, and had everything in order in case the officer would ask me to show. But he was VERY nice. I explained everything to him and he didnt even ask me to show court records. No big deal, just be honest.

Offf offf IPek:) Such a stresss ...I called the 1-800 number about this 100 dollar fee they said they have no idea i swear to god. I couldn't even talk. if they don't know who will know oo my goodness I said thank u it was so helpful and hang up:) I dont know why but i didn't see any 100 fee in the first KCC package. I paid 375 for DV processing fee and 395 for I-485+finger print fee. So Ipek I guess you are the only one who knows about this 100 dollar fee:) Should I send this to KCC? but the thing is until they send me the receipt I guess I will be done with the interview:) I dont know. what to do.DOes anybody send 100 fee to KCC or am I the only one who didn;t send? For your case, I had a friend in her case not for green card but for change of status from J1 to F1 was saying the same 120-180 days for decision, but after 30 days he got the approval letter u never know. ONly thing we need is luck:) Besides thank u for the LUD info. I was only checking case status over there but didn't create an account. I will do it now.

If you already paid for the $375 processing fee, I would say don't worry..What I thought was may be $100 is the old price for the DV processing fee.. Apparently not.. From my experience, I didn't pay a separate $100 fee for anything. The interview letter they send is not always reliable. For instance, I sent my medical along with my application and they still asked me again on the letter. Also, even though I don't have any criminal record, it asked for an arrest record.. Just in case, before the interview, I got a copy of my medical results in a sealed envelope again and I requested a letter from the county clerks office saying that I don't have a record.. During the interview, the guy didn't ask any of them.. When I told him that interview letter indicated those, he said that he doesn't know why those there because he said that he already has a record of my medical in my file and FBI background check was clean so I don't have to worry about arrest record either. But as I mentioned earlier, he asked from me a copy of tax return for 2005 which was not indicated on the letter.. So, do not trust the letter.. May they mixed up that $100 with another type of application type that requires that particular fee.. May be you can try this, create a brand new thread and ask everybody to see if they requested from others to pay $100 for this DV Lottery process or mentioned anything like this on their interview letters.. Actually, HMZ just a put note there saying that $100 is the old price for DV processing.. So, it seems like they sent you an outdated letter..

Lets wait and see what's gonna happen. i am just gonna take all the papers with me for the interview and be a nice guy during the interview:) keep me posted when there is an update in your case. Also for your case, I am a little scared because we are from the same country and i think they might do the same thing to me. You said they approved your case so what happens if you can not get the green card before the end of September? Also did they ask you anything about your future plans? Btw thank u for the responsesss:)

DV fee was $100, but since DV2006 has increased to $375.

i lost 2 months because of the wrong fee. When i sent the check $375(according to my local office's fee schedule) for I-485+fingerprint then i got a rejection notice and they sent me my all papers back to submit again with the right fee. Then I checked the fee it said like now I dont remember the date exactly but the fee has marked up 20 dollars so I sent $395 dollars check and my process started on January 11th which was supposed to start on 1st of November. But this for this $100 even the immig. people have no idea about it probably as Ipek said they just mixed with anotehr application fee.

Hi Onur,
Definitely, I'll keep you posted when there is an update.. I really don't know what happens if I don't get the green card by Sep. one person said that if a visa # doesn't become available until Sep. I lose this deal but another said that since I am approved I am already guarenteed a visa # and I am just waiting for that to become available. I guess I'll find out on July 3rd appointment at infopass... I don't know if you'll have the same issue or not.. I hope not and let's just hope that it is my local office's procedures on this case... But I am more optimistic since that LUD update.. Apparently, that only changes if they mail you a notice or if sb manually feeds the computer about your case.. So far I haven't received any letters and that means that they touched my case.. So, I am relieved in a way that at least they haven't forgotten my case.. Bu arada gercek adim Sehnaz :)

Interview questions are very simple.. He will go over with you I-485 application with you the first 1-2 pgs and he'll ask you your name, date of birty, birth city, country so on.. Very simple stuff... Since this is a green card that US government wants to give you as long as you haven't done anything criminal in the past, it is very easy for them to approve your case. They cause a lot of problem to people who are trying to get their green card through marriage. They look at those cases suspiciously since a lot of people are doing a fake marriage. However, for DV Lottery applicants, they are really easy on them as long as you have the proper documents and no criminal background.. The whole interview process takes only 10-15 minutes.. I don't think he'll ask you any weird questions that they ask for visa interviews in consulates.. The only thing the guy told me in my interview is since I live 1 hr away from Denver but I work in Denver, he said that I must be paying a lot for gas money so I should move to Denver and I told him that that's what I will do as soon as I receive my green card :) TR'ye 2.5 senedir gitmedim.. Ama insallah bu plastic parcasi elime gecerse bir dahaki senenin basinda ziyaret icin gidicegim :)

Actually, bad news :( According to their system, my case is still pending no decision yet. The officer I talked to told me that my case is under "review".. I told her that the guy I had interview told me that he was going to approve me and request a visa # for me.. She said that may be he meant is my case is very approvable... whatever that means.. I asked if there is anything holding my case such as something missing or still may there is background checking and she said no.. Also, she said that it is unusual that my case is under review with no reason.. She said that there is nothing I can do right now but wait and asked me to come back in "3 months!!" if there is still no decision... I am extremely dissapointed.. I feel like in a dead end..

Hi Ipek,

It is the time for you to contact your senator or a houseman. You have few months left and they also need to act and wait for the follow up etc.It is worth trying anyway.

Good Luck!!!

What a .. situation oo my god everyday someting weird something new :( i am so sorry to hear that :( dont worry sehnaz the only thing we need to just do our thing and hope for the best. If we get it after these allllll headaches awesome if not it is ok. The thing is they have been reviewing , processing, checking since the last at least 5 months and what is left to review??? You know what i say get another info for the end of this month and ask again but this time if you can and if you are lucky talk with another representative also you can go to your university's international student office and talk with the immigration specialist. You can make him or her to call them. For my case, I have worked in my school's int';l office so i can make her call the 1-800 and also she told me if there will be problem she can talk with them. You might do the same thing. You can also call the 1-800. By the way did you be able to learn if there are still available visa or not? Cok uzuldum ya SIKMA canini hic belli olmaz bi bakarsin bir hafta icinde postanda gorursun mektubu...

Merhaba Onur,

Your interview is coming up.. I wish you the best of luck.. Hopefully, you don't have to go through what I have right now.. Hopefully, it is just my luck.. My student status OPT expired in Feb 06, and I am right now working with my EAD that I got through my residency application. So, I am no longer related school. However, yesterday, I mailed letter to my senator's office in my city and see if they will respond or not. ALso, I found out that USCIS has to make a decision on my case within 90 days after the interview date. That's the time frame that they are giving.. I'll wait a little bit more and try to get in touch with my company's lawyers and see what they think about it. If it comes to worst of the worst and there is no decision in 90 days, I don't mind hiring a lawyer and try to sue USCIS.. Keep us posted about your case.. Iyi Sanslar :)
