DV07 Winner - Second Package Questions

Hi,

I am a OC 07 winner and got interview date in Feb

Just received in my mailbox today some documents from Auckland consulate. Whats weird is that its post marked 28.11.06 but i only got it on Dec 30th in mail. And i am in Auck as well where it normally take 4-5 days

If someone can answer the following quesions it would be great.

What is in the Second package from KCC?

I got this package from Auck Consulate...Is this the second package or is there another one coming from KCC and what will that have?


The documents i got in the brown envelope from Auck consulate contains:

Instructions on Appointment date and advising me to mail in prior to interview: passport photos and copies of passport and address where GC needs to be sent, instruction on how to get Police certificates.

It also has the following medical forms are enclosed:

DS-2053
DS-3024
DS-3025
DS-3026

It also advises me that i need to obtain Police cert from another country where i once resided and that process will take 4-6 weeks. By the way has anyone ever got fingerprint form FD-258 from KCC, as this form is not in the package from Auck Consulate yet in their instructions they say to use this form to get Fingerprints taken for the other countries Police Cert

Since i will have interview early Feb, they may not receive my police cert from the other country, Will i get my visa denied if on the day of interview they have not received the Police cert by then??

Also they say that medical result will take 3 weeks to get to them, so this looks unlikely that on day of interview they will have no medical results, but just in case they dont, is this another grounds of denial?

Generally do consulates hold cases till end of the DV fiscal year or till the visa numbers run out (whichever happens first) if police certs/medical results are not in on interview dates or hold until end of that month in which visa number was current?

They also say in the appoinment letter that i can call and change my interview date. Is this safer option to say delay till late February.


Any help in this will be appreciated

you are supposed to bring them with you to the interview. If you don't have them, you will not get the visa, but you will bring them by later, and then, if the visa numbers are still available, you will get a visa.

you usually get the medical results in a sealed envelope the day after the exam (or even on the day of the exam) and you bring it in to the interview.

once you ask to reschedule, you cannot request a particular month or date. The embassy will reschedule for whatever date works for them. It could happen in June or September. It's never safe to reschedule.

All you need from the second package is the invitation to the interview. You should have requested the police certificates from other countries by now.

cheers for your help and answering some of the questions. just to clarify your answer -you said end of month for one of the Q. So if by end of month there is no Police cert then thats it you denied visa or keep waiting until you get another visa number which may be few months later?

do you know if this is the "second package" i got from auckland consulate or is there another one coming from KCC. just confused thats all?

seems there are quite a few nzers going for interview,
has anyone used the FD-258 form for fingerprint. i know for nz clearance there is no fingeprint but i need to obtain clearance from another country and for that i need to submitt fingerprints. so i am not sure whether to use FD-258 form or just the one that NZ police use

they keep your visa number till the end of the month. If you get the police certificate to them the month after, and the visa numbers are still available for your country, then you just get a new one, and there is no problem. If, however, the visa numbers are no longer available for your country, you could be very much out of luck.

It's only January now, the interview is in Feb, so I wouldn't worry about it so much. If it were July-August and you were from Ukraine, I'd worry a lot more. A year or two ago their visa numbers were gone before May....

I don't know about the fingerprints. The countries where we had to get the police certificate do not require that you submit FPs for that.

I think I can help with the FP part. Form FD-258 may be downloaded as a PDF & printed (google will find it). I used this form to have myself fingerprinted at the local Police Station and I then sent the fingerprints to another country along with the police cert application. It took about a month after that until the police cert was received. This will vary by country.

If the NZ police can fingerprint you on their own fingerprint form this should also be acceptable. You could check with the authority in the country you need to police cert from to see what they accept -- that's what I did.
