DV winners in B2 status who have/had chosen AOS

Anyone in B2 status who has/had chosen AOS???
Here is my question:
Can the expected AOS processing be the reason for extending B2 visa?

That's what I think. :(
How about sending the AOS package on October 2nd with overnight delivery, which will allow the B2 holder to have a Receipt date of October 2nd, or 3rd (his B2 expires on October 4th)? That way he will have a pending I-485 case, thus remain in status. The only possible problem with it could be a denial for early presentation (his number will probably be current in January).
The only solution then is CP, I guess...
Any other views on this?

Find a B2 reason and extend it this way.
