DV winner presented in the US, what to do next?

Hello all, I would appreciate for your help. My friend just got his Congrat!!! letter and he is now in the US. He spoke to some lawyers and they are suggesting very opposite things. Did anybody know what exactly he should do for an Adjustment Of Status, What documents to send first and when, not to be disqualified. His number is quite high 005*** from Europe.

There are a lot of posts on the AOS topic, so he should be able to find the answer to his questions.
