DV state lottery

Dear,

I have been selected for DV state lottery 2022. One question has been bothering me since I got the news: In my initial application in September 2020 my friend who was filling the application wrote as my "current address" the address where I was living in my homeland in Afghanistan. But at the moment of filing the application I myself was living in Moscow Russia, I travelled in December 2019 to Russia for studies.

Now I should fill in DS 260 forum. Here as my current address I am writing the address of my residence in Russia and as my previous addresses I am gonna put my address in Afghanistan which I had put as my current address in initial application forum back in September 2020.

Is this gonna be a problem? Is this a material fact?

I thank you all in advance for your answer.

Regards

It’s totally fine. They know people move!

Dear,
Is it going to be a problem is someone else in another country fills out the DS260 forum? I myself am in Russia but my brother in Belgium fills out the forum for met. Should I report that someone helped me out with filling out the DS 260?

I thank you in advance for your answer.

Dear Simon,

On 9 May 2021 I got the news that I have been selected for DV 2022. On the one hand I become very happy hearing it but on the other hand my joy did not last long because I remembered that maybe I have made a serious mistake filling out the original entry in October 2020.

Besides this I rushed to submit my DS 260 on May 16 2021 but just after submission of it I bumped into your website on google and read that it is better to delay the submission of DS 260 but It was late.

Now two things have been bothering since hearing the good news and will keep bothering me till I get my visa approval or in worst scenario a denial unless you assure me that my mistake is not a big deal.

1: While filling out the original entry, my brother in Belgium wrote as answer to the question number 10 " country where you live today" my permanent address at my home country in Afghanistan which is also my mailing address ( question number 9). While I have been living in Moscow Russia since December 2019 and pursue currently a degree at international relations in a Russian University.

I don' know why my brother did it, maybe because only to make his work easy because he had make lots of applications or because he thought I will go back to Afghanistan very soon or maybe he did not know enough about DV lottery long procedure.

But in DS 260 I told everything as it is and that I am currently living in Russia. At first I chose US embassy in Moscow as my interview location but after hearing about the suspension of visa issuance, I changed it to US embassy in Kabul Afghanistan.

So Is it gonna be a big deal? Is it a material fact?

2: I think as an answer to question number 13 " Highest level of education you have achieved, as of today" my brother has chosen a university degree thinking of my current ongoing studies while at the time of filling out the entry in October 2020 I had just started my first year of university. He is not sure about what he has chosen as answer tot this question but I have my school certificate for sure because I graduated from 12th grade in 2015 and will send my certificate as a proof.

But In DS 260, I have corrected it and said that currently I am following a degree in Russian University and that my highest level of education achieved is a high school certificate.

3. My case number is 2022AS00007XXX. Is it a good number?

4. Am I gonna need a I-134 Affidavit of support? I have relatives there who could do this for me but I don't think I will need it because I am young ( 24 years old) and can immediately start a job after my arrival. My relative have already made some arrangements to get hired as soon as possible.

I thank you in advance for your answer and hope it will bring back my comfort. I am a 24 years old boy.

1. Previously answered - refer to the previous response you were provided with.
2. So what is the specific question you're asking here?
3. We currently do not know the total number of selectees for DV2022, but I think that is a decent CN.
4. Getting an I-134 is recommended, if you already have relatives who can provide you with one, then plan on getting it.

Dear Thanks for your reply!

2: my specific question is; Is it going to be considered as a lie because I have not achieved my university degree yet and on original entry back in October 2020 my brother “maybe” had said my highest education level achieved is a bachelor degree while it is not. My highest education level achieved is a high school degree.

But I corrected everything on ds 260 forum.

Is it going to be a ground for denial?

Thanks alot in advance for your answer

No, it's not. All they care about is that you meet the minimum education for DV.
