Hi guys, please is there anyone who has called DOS for DV AP status inquiry??

i have called them but the lady picked up the phone and she asked me my passport # or case # then i told her my case # then she said No, your case should start with 3 letters whereas all dv cases start with 4 numbers, 2 letters after that she said i have to call KCC and KCC replied i have to contact my local embassy as long as i already had my interview but the problem when you contact the embassy they always say the same sentence that are written on their website."ongoing Administrative processing"

any help highly appreciated

I just finished analyzing the numbers from DV2012, and I have an impression that AS cutoff numbers are low this year because they have been really high last year. There's a distinct possibility that the DOS is compensating for last year's numbers. This probably has something to do with the non-random fiasco last year that was caused by a software problem.

I don't really know what you're trying to say. This year is independant of last year, come on! What do you mean you mean by compensation? We had 16000 winners last year, and 16000 Asian winners this year as well. Don't tell me that by compensation you mean, this year they would give Asians lesser numbers of visas.

Let's wait till this month ends, and till the next bulletin! The second selection would have been carried out by then.
 
hi guys, i have a case number 2013AS000068**. Do i ever get a chance to be interviewed? coz. asians with high case number are cryin' at this time. me too sometimes!!
 
In DV12 the largest CN for asia was ~80,000 (!) This is why it seemed to advance fast. In fact, it didn't. The CNs were much more sparse, probably has to do with the fact that 7.7m of 8.5m entries were from Bangladesh.

This year largest CN (for now) is around 11k to 12k and number of selectees around 7 to 8k. So it appears. Why not 16k like they announced,? .......

Let's get the terminology straight so we don't confuse people. Case Number = Selectee Number. Officially there are 16,045 Asian selectees for DV 2013, which means case numbers 2013AS00000001 through 2013AS00016045. Based on data from past years, I estimate that there will be around 6000 to 7000 visas issued for Asia.

DV2012 is strange, that's why I suspect the system was still partially broken when it tried to assign case numbers to Asian selectees. We know for a fact that in the beginning the system was broken due to the non-random selection problem, which resulted in re-drawing.

Here is my projection for Asia based on the cutoff numbers in October, November, and December. Take a look at the row of numbers on the far right, based on rate difference of 2.2% and 2.8%. I don't include September because typically they make all CN current at that time.

I do not this is accurate. I think that the CNs represent ordinal visa number. It definitely not representing the selectee number

Max CN number out there for asia is between 11k to 12k. Which represents about 7 to 8k selectees. I performed a statistical test on the numbers reported by the members of this forum and this is what came out. For Africa in comparison the highest CN is in the range of 80k which matches the number of selectees 50k

i m dv winner of around 7k . just december visa bulletin showed 3400 for the january interview. so, when will we expect for 7 k ? and one thing do all 16,045 winners from asia get a chance to be interviewed? And does anyone know so far the case number ever to be the highest?

Answer: NO, because not all 16,045 selected persons were informed. Only about 40-50% were informed. There is a good chance that _all_ those informed will be interviewd (otherwise why did they inform them in the first place ??)

Answer: on October 22nd, case numbers 10xxx appeared so max CN is probably around that number

Last but not the least question.... Simple answer: you should expect an interview when they email you the 2nd notification letter :)

But if you're into some speculation - the table below compares the advance rate of 2007-2012 to 2013.
Yes I know, it seemed to all of us that the advance rate in those years was _super fast_. This was because of the Bangladesh Effect (©, patent pending:)) ... So with some speculation and past data all mixed together and well stirred - the table below ensues.

im one of the selectee with a case no 2013AS000025**.but unfortunately i checked my status in october and then forwarded the documents in mid october.havent received my 2nd letter yet.so i wanna know when im going receive my 2nd letter.i havent even got documents delevery notification from kcc.what shall i do now to conform my delevery??
 
I have sent all the document on sep 18th. How long do i have to wait for my 2nd notification letter?
my case number seems high. but do i still have a chance?

superfantastic bhai... I am also riding the same boat as you. From all the experience/reading I have come to the conclusion that certainly all Case Number will become current (there never has been a year when it hasn't been so), but will 3500 Nepalese get visa before you or not is the question.... that nobody can say.. hope for the best... if you could find out from e-spot or other places if the have information of Nepalese getting selected in Oct 22 lot then that will help put things into perspective...
